MX: Visualizing the Problem

To improve from last week we decided to project an animation of the user paths, emphasizing the repetition and complexity in each journey. We also added noises heard in a train yard with users speaking about their jobs in attempt to add the human and narrative aspect back in our diagrams.

We highlighted several problem areas seen in the user journeys. Some problems were universal for all 3 workers, such as the late night shifts and tools used. The most painful problem for each user is shown in the below diagram. Austin’s problem is spending 80% of his time trying to navigate the yard and find a box of freight, Trevor gets bored waiting between loads, and Carol has trouble communicating with walkie talkie/radio.
